Mr. Booth received his B.B.A. degree from the University of Georgia and he received his J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law where he is now a member of the Joseph Henry Lumpkin Society. He began his legal career in the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Southern District of Georgia where he served as a trial attorney for 38 ½ years. He held several key supervisory positions in the office and he has vast experience in handling complex civil litigation, to include personal injury, wrongful death, employment, eminent domain, and bankruptcy cases. He also has experience in handling criminal prosecutions, as well as civil and criminal appeals. Mr. Booth was named the U.S. Attorney in February 2007 and served as acting and interim U.S. Attorney until his presidential appointment in December 2007. He served until September 2009. From 2010 through 2020, he taught as an adjunct professor in the Hull College of Business at Augusta University.
